Beautiful resort, right on the beach, within walking distance to dining and shopping. Pool is family friendly with lots of shade & loungers. Highly recommend this location and staff are fantastic!

While our dinner at the main restaurant was a big negative, breakfast, service, and the room and location were all great. Management transferred us rooms from two doubles to a king room, with no hesitation Service throughout was second to none.
Location, beach, pool and grounds were all special to our family with a five year old. We would definitely stay again.

Slice of paradise. This resort is not only beautiful, the staff is inviting and helpful. Pools are clean. There’s beach access. Near by are two shopping centers easy to walk to. It’s a good family resort or a couples get away. Aloha.

Property is in good shape, rooms are slightly on the smaller side (we got resort-facing King). Overall, a great experience. Staff is friendly, pools are in good shape, and amenities are well kept. If you decide to travel as a family with one kid (which we were), we would pick a two bed option or a different room style. The property doesn't have a hospitality room for guests post-checkout. This would be a good addition knowing that a lot of the return flights leave late evening, and guests have to check out mid-day. Coffee was below-par for a hotel in its own coffee region. Overall great experience, its proximity to the beach and lava-lava club were added bonuses!

I’d say I was a little let down with the interior of the hotel. For the price you pay I wanted to see more care in the cleanliness and how updated the rooms were. Simple things could make the hotel appear more high end and In line with the price. Also, there was very little in the way of amenities, though it seemed to be common in Hawaii to pay extra for everything. I did enjoy the offerings of the cultural activities like the bracelet making and it had a nice gym and infinity pool. Had to pay extra for all any watersports and activities as they are not offered by the hotel even though it reads as though they are. Elizabeth at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and kind, leaving an imprint on our family and Scott at the concierge desk was funny, knowledgeable and helpful.

As expected, the Marriott is a nicely appointed upscale resort with comfy beds, great sheets, and the best air conditioner of our Big Island stay. It’s a beautifully decorated and landscaped place with a bit of a Disney feel of unreality. Staff were wonderfully kind and helpful.
Daily resort fees and parking fees will add an additional $60 a day to your daily cost which is already pricey.
Nice pool area that could use some more umbrellas and shady spots. Go to the pool in the morning as it did get really crowded once the day trippers returned to the hotel – lots of kids as they have a separate kids pool right next to the infinity pool.
The beach is beautiful and the water refreshing, but there is a large ridge of coral right after you enter the water, so be sure to wear your reef shoes. No shade on the beach unless you rented a cabana (only 4 available), but some people did bring their own beach umbrellas.
Food was expensive as it is everywhere on the island, but the breakfast sandwiches and lattes from the small fast casual place in the lobby were surprisingly large, good and fairly priced. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant but did go to the mall nearby (walking distance) which had a few restaurants. There is also an ABC store for inexpensive food options and souvenirs.

The only negative was the resort fee 30usd plus tax a night. Though you get a resort passport with different activities and coupons to use around the resort in return and I quickly learnt these resort fees are charged everywhere in Hawaii (we are now in Waikiki) Wifi was good! Food great! Rooms super clean and comfortable. Best thing about the resort by far was the staff. They were the nicest people very very good hospitality reminded me of NZ. We are planning a trip back with the rest of our family! Thanks for having us
